Trivia

  • The dial numbers are the same as those of KRTH, better known as K-Earth 101, a real life radio station in Los Angeles, California that plays classic hits, but is known for playing many disco and funk hits. In addition, Joe Cipriano is the imaging voice for both stations.
  • The station was originally called The Groove, but was changed as "The Groove" is the exact name of a real life satellite radio station on Sirius XM.
  • This is Dr. Robotnik's favorite radio station and Amy's second favorite radio station.
  • This is one of the default stations in Amy's car, with the other being Planet Pop Radio.
  • The wheels in the logo are those of roller skates, which along with the disco ball, were huge symbols of the funk/disco era in the 1970s.
  • George Clinton's song "Atomic Dog" was sampled by two songs on the O.G. FM station; partly on Ice Cube's "Ghetto Bird" and heavily on Snoop Dogg's "Who Am I? (What's My Name?)."
  • "West Coast Poplock" by Ronnie Hudson and the Street People was referenced in "California Love" by 2Pac, which was a DLC song on O.G. FM. The song also partially samples Roger's song "So Ruff, So, Tuff", which was released as DLC on this station.
  • "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees was sampled in Wyclef Jean's "We Trying to Stay Alive", which appears on the soundtrack to Shadow the Hedgehog 2: Southern Stakes.
  • "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire, and "Get Down on It" by Kool & the Gang, and "Super Freak" by Rick James were reused in the 80's Pop playlist in Shadow the Hedgehog 2: Southern Stakes.
