Now that the new standards are up and I've had some more time to review and apply them to articles, there are some changes that I definitely want to make. Starting with some things I added to make them closer to the old standards system, without really thinking too hard about them.
To be removed:
- Every page must have X other categories
- Why? Do the categories really matter that much? It's not a reason to mark an article to be deleted, that's for damn sure.
- Every character needs to have an infobox template
- Again, why? Another silly reason that people get their articles deleted. This isn't necessary, and some people just don't WANT an infobox.
To be added::
- You cannot use a DO NOT EDIT template unless your article meets standards.
- I see too much of this happening. There is no reason that people shouldn't be able to help you fix formatting and spelling issues and such. This is a WIKI afterall.
- Your article must have more than a single paragraph of information on it to even post it. This is NOT protected by construction templates.
- People keep putting up articles with almost nothing on them, slapping a construction template on them, and not touching them again for a very long time. If you can't formulate your idea enough to make at least a couple paragraphs, then your idea doesn't deserve its own page. It's as simple as that.
