Quinton grabs the glass and pours the whiskey on the spider. He then grabs the spider by his shirt and slams the glass onto the spider's head. The bar goes silent as Quinton breaks into a violent fit.
"Don't you dare bring Beth up again!" Obviously in a bit of a drunken rage, the bird was not thinking right.
"You got some death wish punk?" Quinton shouts.
Hourglass immediately gets up with an annoyed huff and tries to separate the two, but finds that the bird has a rather strong grip on the arachnid.
"I'll cut off your hands if you don't release him this instant." She threatens as she reveals Malice, a shapeshifting weapon that morphs into a bladed form. She didn't feel the need to save the spider, but she certainly wasn't going to get any answers this way. When he refuses to let go she does so.
"...I could use these in a future ritual." She looks back at the stilt, who was now on the ground bleeding. "...must I put you out of your misery? You're making a scene." Malice then turns into a bow and she shoots an arrow made of shadow through his chest.
She looks back at the spider. "...so, do you know where I could find any ancient tomes?"
(yo this shit is whack af)
The bartender sighs, as if he expected this to occur but was hoping that it would not. He does not even answer the coyote's question as he pulls out a tiny, cubed device.
"Whelp. Here's to forty-four."
With his bare hand, the spider crushes the device and spontaneously disappears in a flash.
It clicked in her mind. Oh. Oh. That explains it.
She narrows her eyes at the spider, now more weary than shocked. "What do you want?" She demands an answer, though in the back of her mind she's also concerned about the implied time loops; he must've had a reason to loop back...
(Copy/pasting Minato's earlier edit because he take too long)
"I'm sorry what? We've never met before. I don't hang with creepy bartender losers." Quinton says as he finishes his whiskey.
"Damn it, g-gimme a refill!" He slams his hand on the table.
This time, Paradox said nothing to Quinton as he poured him another glass before turning to Hourglass.
"I just wanted to talk, one time traveler to another- I mean, two others. It's part of my job."
She stares at him, trying to decipher if he was joking or if he was being serious.
"The bird. A time traveler." She seems to state rather than ask, turning her attention to him. With his taste in clothing, she would've expected a different power or ability, say...balloons. He did remind her of a clown. "Him."
Eventually she shakes off her disbelief. "Regardless, how did you know? Did I somehow reveal my abilities in another timeline?"
Quinton drinks the whiskey rather slowly as he turns his attention to Hourglass.
"What? You got a problem with your eyes or something? Jealous of my wonderful looks? I think you've had enough to drink." Quinton says with a smirk on his face.
"Yeah I can traverse time, but.. It's not as easy as I say it is. I was always wondering what it was but I guess Spider boy does know how I work. I use it to affect my website skills and well, pull out of a dangerous situation." Quinton says braggingly.
"What business do you have looking into me, spider boy? You want me to write up a blog about this or something?"
"You won't end up getting enough views to justify the effort of typing up that article, so I wouldn't bother. Trust me, I know...and speaking of trust," the spider turns back to Hourglass once again, "I managed to gain yours a few weeks from now, which is when you originally told me."
Hourglass watches him without amusement. He was likely drunk at this point, she realizes, and so disregards his words. She quietly laughs under her breath at the spider's response to him.
"Interesting." She takes another sip of her drink. "I'm not easily impressed, but I don't hand my trust out so easily. And you have quite the nerve to skip through time so frequently." She sets her now empty glass down and folds her hands.
"Tell me this: if you've gone far enough into the future to somehow earn my trust, and to discover the reception of his article, then why choose to return to this period in time?"
