Angel Valley is an area exclusive to Mobius: Next. It is the wasteland left when the Mobian Sea (Atlantic area) dried up, as well as the remains of Angel Island. It existed throughout the Great Peace, and long afterwards, until the Master Emerald was repaired and the emeralds were returned to the zone, reverting Angel Island and the Mobian Sea back to their original state.

History[]

In the early years of the Great Peace, sea level gradually began to decline. The cause of this phenomenon is currently unknown, but it is believed to have something to do with the state of the Chaos Force at the time. By the time the Master Emerald disappeared, sea level was too low to support the falling Angel Island. The island broke apart upon impact, and its pieces rested on the seafloor. Eventually the sea level dropped completely, leaving a wasteland in its place. This wasteland came to be known as Angel Valley.

Angel Valley remained this way for many years. It saw many battles fought within it, including the war against the Black Army. Oddly enough, the valley and Angel Island itself were instantaneously returned to normal when the Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds were returned to the zone. With the Mobian Sea and Angel Island restored, Angel Valley was no more.

Notable Areas[]

Dragon Spine Rock[]

Dragon Spine Rock is the name given to the remains of Angel Island, named after Angel Island's mountain range, which mostly survived the island's destruction. It is the only vegetated area in Angel Valley, and holds a majority of the valley's miniscule population.

Starlight Woods[]

The Starlight Woods are a forest area of Dragon Spine Rock. They were formerly the Mushroom Hills, but have now become slightly undergrown, with far less fungi aside from one particular grove. The woods are home to Kramon Tyrran, an ex-bounty hunter, and have been made into a training ground for his surrogate son Topaz.

Spectral Valley/Spectral Hills[]

Spectral Valley, also known as the Spectral Hills, is a grassy plane on Dragon Spine Rock. It was formerly Rainbow Valley, but has become dry and unpopulated. It contains a regular hideout for Ashura the Hedgehog and Wechnia the Echidna, hidden deep within a large cavern.

Emerald Mesa[]

The Emerald Mesa rests in the middle of nowhere, far from Dragon Spine Rock. It was formerly Shrine Isle and, aside from Dragon Spine Rock, is the only remaining piece of Angel Island. It still hold the Master Emerald Shrine and is guarded by Gold the Echidna, despite having no emerald.

Inhabitants[]

Kramon Tyrran[]

Kramon lives in a small cottage in the Starlight Woods. After retiring from his career as a bounty hunter, he moved to the valley to escape the bustling city life. Keeping busy, he has turned the forest into a training ground, littering it with many traps to keep himself protected from outsiders.

Gold the Echidna[]

Gold spends many long periods at the Emerald Mesa, guarding the Master Emerald Shrine. However, Gold is in fact nomadic, and has lived in multiple regions of the valley. He also occasionally travels to the city, soley for an occasional change of pace.

Ashura & Wechnia[]

Ashura the Hedgehog and Wechnia the Echidna technically do not live in Angel Valley. They have made their home in the Negative Zone, and alternate dimension which can be accessed via a cave in the Spectral Hills. This cave has been made a common hideout of theirs, and is usually the only place they are seen on Mobius.

Ecology[]

Angel Valley consists almost entirely of desert terrain. The land is dry and rocky, with several crevaces and rock formations (spires, mostly) blemishing its surface. Its only vegetated region is Dragon Spire Rock, the remains of Angel Island. This particular region includes grassy planes and light forest areas. The northernmost and sothernmost points of the valley are generally icy, but otherwise still desert-like.

The climate in Angel Valley varies depending on the region, as it encompasses a large portion of the globe. Weather can range from sunny to rainy, and even foggy at times, with occasional snow in the far north and south. Temperatures also vary accordingly, only reaching below zero at the northernmost and southernmost points.
