The Adaptor Cage is a powerful type of wiring used in the absolute strongest of machines, capable of absorbing almost any type of energy, eliminating the main weakness of the strongest machines, Super Forms and above.
Creation[]
The Adaptor Cage takes two powerful devices, a finished version of the Dynamo Cage, a energy absorbing device Eggman had prototyped before Surge stolen it, and the Ether Adaptor, a device capable of absorbing almost any energy, and uses the Adaptor to enhance the Cage. Creating it requires making the completed model of the Dynamo Cage, then figuring out the magic materials used in the Ether Adaptor, and creating them to coat the wires of the Dynamo Cage.
Usage[]
Using the Adaptor Cage at it's most basic requires having it exposed to air, be that by wearing it, or working it into the externals of a machine, so that it's absorption radius covers the user entirely. At that point, the user can absorb energies, but with a hard cap depending on how much Adaptor Cage wiring is used. The most obvious way to increase the cap is to use as much Adaptor Cage wiring as possible, but the most efficient way to increase the cap is by adding batteries for the stored energy to charge. Energy release functions are also recommended, lest a enemy overload the Adaptor Cage and cause it to explode.
Users[]
Eggman(Sonic Postgame)(Inventor): As it's inventor, Eggman used it in the aptly named Egg Adaptor and incorporated it into Metal Sonic, Orbot and Cubot.
Other Eggmen: Within the multiverse, other Eggmen, once they learned of it, they started using the Adaptor Cage in their machines too.
Others: People across the multiverse sometimes learn of the Adaptor Cage and craft it too.
Gods: Even gods saw the power of the Adaptor Cage, and incorporated it into things, including weapons like the Nexus Wispons.
Abilities[]
On it's own, the Adaptor Cage has the capacity to drain energy from the nearby environment, as well as any beings, organic or mechanical, and even artifacts which have internal energy supplies, or those in Super Forms and equivalents. From there, it can use the same energy to empower the user, or the machine it's built into. This gives it a vast array of potential powers it can bestow onto the user. These include powers over time, space and the elements from Chaos and Sol energy, when not factoring in other dimensions.
Weaknesses[]
The Adaptor Cage is potent, but depending on the build, it may not be able to absorb certain energies, and unless properly insulated against certain extremely strong energies, it will be fried upon exposure to them. As explained before, it also can only absorb a certain amount of energies. but unless using a specialized machine, stronger energies can be hard or impossible to use, even when absorbed. Of course, it also has no ability to absorb pure physical force.
