ART.
ART (short for Artificial Robot Technology) is a character that appears in the AngieYaz/RoseOfSharon reboot of Sonic Underground. It was a robot and one of Doctor Robotnik's most powerful creations, developed for the purpose of defeating the Freedom Fighters. However, it defected to the Freedom Fighters and sacrificed itself for their cause. Sonic later erected a stone obelisk monument in ART's memory when he was crowned King of Mobius.
History[]
ART was sent to capture the Sonic Underground, going through two forms changes as he attempted to abduct them. Despite managing to thwart him several times, the trio were caught by ART while rehearsing for a concert. However, ART had heard Sonic sing, and was so enchanted by his golden voice that he happily requested a song. The group obliged, and ART's free will was activated by the music, even leading him to play a keyboard similar to Sonia's. This allowed him to become an honorary member of their band before Amy Rose would.
ART defected to the Freedom Fighters, using his impressive abilities to free prisoners and destroy Swatbots. However, he and the Hedgehogs were later caught in a crushing chamber. Using his strength, ART blasted a door so that his friends could escape, but he himself was crushed.
Legacy[]
While ART's time with the Resistance was brief, he served to inspire Prince Sonic Hedgehog, who at that time had been feeling as though the efforts against Robotnik and finding his mother and father were pointless.
Powers and abilities[]
Able to absorb any technology into his frame to increase in size and power, ART is a learning robot, capable of adapting to anything his opponents might deploy.
Trivia[]
- His ability to change shape is similar to D.U.F.U.S. from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
- His name is the first three letters in Artificial Intelligence.
- He is also very similar to the Terminator, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
